Dr. Jeff Dories is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville. His primary research interests are the British Romantic period, Ecocriticism, and Science Fiction. He has had many conference presentations, and published articles on 18th and 19th century British literature, Ecocriticism, Science Fiction, and contemporary Chinese writing, primarily the work of Cixin Liu. Dr. Dories has also been interested in introducing non-western cultures in the composition classroom in order to question American cultural norms and promote cross-cultural exchange. He regularly invites guest speakers, ranging from PhD candidates to the Head of Asian Studies at UNC Chapel Hill to interact with composition students to promote cross-cultural understanding. He has been awarded many grants and awards for his work related to diversity and inclusion.
