About Dr. Jeff Dories

Dr. Jeff Dories Assistant Teaching Professor of English Florida Institute of Technology

Dr. Jeff Dories is a father of two (Clare 10, Cole 8) and husband to Jessica Dories who lives in Palm Bay, Florida. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, reading, listening to podcasts, traveling, playing fantasy football, and playing with the kids. Lately, he has been enjoying reading science fiction and Chinese fiction.

Dories is originally from Buffalo, NY and lived in Indiana, PA in from 2004 to 2021. He moved to Palm Bay in August 2021. He enjoys rooting for the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and the Ohio State Buckeyes (O – H!). He married a native of Indiana, PA in 2006, Jessica Dories, who is a Director of International Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. They both enjoy meeting people from other cultures and reading about other cultures as well.

Dories focuses his work on studying non-western cultures, diversity and inclusion, British Romanticism, composition, Ecocriticism, and body image / eating disorders in literature. He has been at the Florida Institute of Technology since August 2021.
